However, there is something to be said for saying to yourself &quot;I&#039;m going to make a viral video&quot;... the people in your example just needed to take it a step farther and say &quot;Now how can I do that?&quot;

Most of the viral videos created thus far were not preplanned as far as I know, but you can certainly attempt it with varying amounts of success.  For instance, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exgpW2_MbRM has 336k views.  Not bad for a video that almost certainly has been viewed by Skittle&#039;s (probable) target demographic: Teenagers and young adults.
